If this card is sent to the GY as material for the Link Summon of a Cyberse monster: You can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. When an attack is declared involving your Link Monster and an opponent's Link Monster: You can banish this card from your GY; negate that attack, and if you do, until the end of this turn, the original ATK of that opponent's monster becomes 0, also it is unaffected by other card effects, except its own. You can only use each effect of "Firewall Guardian" once per turn.

Firewall Guardian — Power Evaluation

Final Score: 61 ± 6 · Confidence: Medium

  • Intrinsic: 58 · Deck: 63 · Meta: provisional
  • Primary role: Removal / Negation · Secondary: Material body

Why it scores here

Firewall Guardian converts a graveyard body into a narrow but real negate: banishing it from the GY stops an attack between your Link monster and an opponent's Link monster and zeroes that monster's original ATK. Its material value is clean, since it is a Level 4 DARK Cyberse that is also revivable from the GY when used as Link material. The score is held down by the narrow trigger (Link-vs-Link attacks only), the GY-only activation, and the absence of any recorded combo evidence. The 400-deck inclusion and the 6400 view count did not earn points on their own.

Axis scores

Axis Score Evidence
Accessibility 60 It is live only once in the GY, which the Cyberse Link-material route supplies in most of its 400 decks, but it has no hand or field route of its own (inferred from text, 100% deck inclusion, zero combo starts).
Combo & Conversion 40 Card text only: it can return to the field as a body after Link material use, but no recorded board shows it building a line (text-only inference, 0 combo appearances).
Resource Economy 45 Its GY banish is a cost that is already spent, and it trades one-for-one for an attack negate and a 0-ATK effect (verified from text, no netCardAdvantage data).
Effect & Interaction 50 Strong only when triggered: it negates the attack and zeros an opponent Link's original ATK, but only in Link-vs-Link attacks and it is activated from the GY (verified from text).
Material Utility 65 A Level 4 DARK Cyberse is a clean generic Link material, and it still converts into material when its effects are negated (verified from text, observed in 400 of 400 decks as a single copy).
Resilience & Flexibility 55 It cannot be stopped by the common hand-trap response from the hand, but it is exposed to GY hate and to effect negation, and each of its two effects is once per turn (inferred from text).
Deck-Building Efficiency 75 It is a single-copy, non-garnet, non-locking card in 393 of 400 decks, with a 1.02 average copy count (observed from deck evidence).

Calculation

Weight profile: 0.7 Removal/Negation + 0.3 Material body. Intrinsic ≈ 58, Deck ≈ 63, Meta = provisional. Modifiers: none. Final formula: 0.40*Intrinsic + 0.60*Deck

Strengths

  • Clean generic Cyberse Level 4 material that converts even when effects are negated
  • Single copy, no garnets, runs in nearly every deck of its homes at 1.02 copies on average
  • Negates an attack and zeros an opponent Link monster's original ATK from the GY, which is hard to answer with a hand trap

Weaknesses

  • Trigger is narrow: only attacks between your Link monster and an opponent's Link monster
  • Activates only from the GY, so it depends on a Link Summon or other send to the GY first
  • No recorded combo appearances, so its board-conversion value rests on text alone

Counters / choke points

  • GY hate and graveyard-exile effects
  • Effect negation of the card in the GY
  • Opponent Link monsters that avoid attacking into your Link monsters

Best use

Removal / Negation: GY-activated negate for Link-vs-Link attacks, plus a Cyberse Link material. Decks: Code Talker, Mathmech, Firewall, @Ignister, Cynet, Maliss. Suggested copies: 1.

Evidence & gaps

  • Verified: Effect text: GY-banish negate of a Link-vs-Link attack, zeroing the opponent monster's original ATK, and GY special summon as Cyberse Link material (card description); Present in 400 of 400 recent decks, 1.02 average copies, 19 distinct archetypes (deck data)
  • Observed: Usage statistics: 100% inclusion in Code Talker (gameplay 4), about 61.5% in Mathmech and Cynet (usage statistics); Top partners Transcode Talker (99.5%) and Firewall Defenser (99.2%) co-occur in nearly every deck (deck data)
  • Inferred: The GY-only activation makes access depend on Link Summon or other sends to the GY; Once-per-turn limits on each effect give two activations per turn at most
  • Data gaps: no combos supplied: combo conversion is text-only inference no banlist token: assumed 3 copies (unlimited) legal copies is empty for every format no rulings supplied; the 'unaffected by other card effects' clause is inferred from text no top-card data ranking (top-card status false) description_vi is a translation and was not used as the source
